Chalk’s Flying Boat seaplane air tour Miami & Key West

This is a short segment showing the dramatic and unique takeoff from Government Cut in Miami Florida
aboard an old Chalk Grumman seaplane. It is from a home movie of the air tour of Miami and a seperate round trip to Key West
. The landing on the return from Key Wewst is amazing as we scoot a dozen feet over the seawall at Bayfront Park in
downtown Miami. I miss these old planes, there was no better way to fly.

In december 05 12/ …
In december 05 12/17/05 I think Chalks flight 101 from Watson Island-Bimini crashed all 19 people aboard died. This was the end of chalks the reason for the crash was a fatqique crack in the wing. Chalks is not just about out of busisness and will never fly again. They were the oldest airline in the world and a great part of South Florida Aviation.
